So guys... I went to this local food joint yesterday, The Talha Mataam Khalis in Damman industrial area 1, Saudi Arabia, ordered what i thought would be a normal chicken buger.
But to my surprise when the buger came, both the patty and the bun had grill marks on them. I was like 'coooooll' its actually grilled, because i could smell the charcoal.
So i started eating, the taste was normal like any chicken patty burger but the grilling was adding.this really extra flavour and smell.to it.
It was my first charcoal grilled chicken burger. And it was g.o.o.d.
P.s it cost my 4 saudi ryal :-) not bad haan...

My first actually grilled burger...
Indian Hyderabadi Pakoray, another first...
Now technically im not allowed to eat fried stuff because my cholesterol is like sky high but whose to say i can't sneak a bite or two... or three or four or......
So my roommate Mr. Khalil brought these in. I tasted, i liked, i picked up the packet and said to Mr. Khalil sorry he couldn't have any.
The taste was just the right combination of sweet and sour, so much so i didn't needed any dipping sauce to finish the packet. The onion was finally cut and was just the right amount AND there were no potatoes in it. In Pakistan we don't make pakoras without potatoes in them and im thinking that the Indians have it right.

Naaaaaaa.....
Im too ego centric to believe the Indians have anything better than Pakistan. Accept Bollywood ofcourse and a thriving porn industry ;-)

Why i love food...
Its a love affair...
When you belong from Gujranwala, Pakistan, the food capital of asia(disclaimers can just shut up :-)) you have no choice but to love food. Its all we see around us back home, every street every corner everywhere you go you will find some kind of food.
Ofcourse there were specialties only available at select places, like Paway(sheeps leg'bone') of Haji Abdul Ghani, Molvi Rola's Chana(black chick peas) and many other, which i will ofcourse discuss 1 by 1.
But growing up everywhere i went i was branded a food lover, simply because i was from gujranwala.
But it was'nt a lie, i for one was not typecasted, i really did grew to love food, all types of it, from the cheap and dirty ones from a local street vendor to the high fi chinese and continental from lush hotels. I also managed to pickup a nack for trying new food and thanx to a very good friend Umer, that habbit kinda became permanent.
So this blog is dedicated to food, food from Gujranwala, Pakistan and wherever i eat anything good, or even bad for that matter.
because food is food and on this blog
